Installing
Requirements
- Paper 1.21.11 (or a fork such as Purpur) running on Java 25.
- Players on Minecraft 1.21.11 see the HUD. With ViaVersion, players on other versions can still join; they just get no HUD and nothing breaks.
- A licence key (see Licence & server seats). The server must be able to reach our licence server online.
- Optional: PlaceholderAPI (for
%placeholders%), Geyser + Floodgate (for Bedrock players).
Steps
- Put
NovaUI-1.0.0.jarinplugins/and start the server. NovaUI starts locked and says so in the console. - Get your licence key in our Discord with
/get-license, then typenovaui license <key>in the server console. It is saved toconfig.ymland checked at once - no restart needed. - Open the HUD web port in your firewall/panel: 8165 by default (
http.portinplugins/NovaUI/config.yml).- If your host maps it to another public port, set
http.public-port. - Behind a proxy or a different address, set
http.public-hostto your server’s IP or domain.
- If your host maps it to another public port, set
- Join with 1.21.11 and accept the resource pack. The example HUD appears: a stats row at the top, a player card, an info panel on the right and a level bar.
- Run
/novaui selftestto check the pages, the editor screens and the pack download.
Can’t open a port?
Set pack.mode: external in config.yml, upload plugins/NovaUI/output/pack.zip anywhere that gives a direct
download link, and put the link in pack.external-url. NovaUI still sends it to players with the right checksum.
Using your own server resource pack
Put your own pack(s) (.zip) in plugins/NovaUI/merge/ and NovaUI merges them into one pack (pack.merge: true).
When both packs have the same file, NovaUI’s file wins. Need help merging? We can do it for you - ask in
our Discord.
